Fever in Covid times

Ordinary week until Wednesday.  Audrey was totally normal at wake up and even hanging out in the morning... she was dropped off at preschool at 9 am and temperature scanned at drop off - passed no issues.  Then I get a call sometime before 10 a.m. that she has a fever of 102 and to pick her up.  What!  I am super anxious on my way to get her wondering what could possibly have caused this.  We have been super conservative with what we do - which is next to nothing.  Audrey is clearly not her usual self.  Extra quiet and blob like.  We go home and watch some cartoons and have lunch (which she didn't eat much of except an orange and some milk).  She goes down for a nap for 2 hours.  I honestly expected even longer.  She is still fever - around 102 when she wakes up.  After wake up while we are on the couch she requests food and takes a bite of a sandwich  and promptly pukes.  Poor thing.  We slowly offer liquids after 30 minutes (now that we learned that is what you do...) and then snacks (applesauce pouch and crackers).  She spends the afternoon just a blob on the couch watching TV.  She has two slices of toast with butter for dinner and is still at about 102.  We take a quick bath and get ready for bed by 7 pm.  She did pretty ok overnight and sleeps until past 7 am.  She was going to be spending another chill day with us since you are supposed to be 24 hr fever free to go back to preschool.  Audrey measured at about 99- 100 that am and as the day progressed the fever fully receded. It was looking up and we could probably return to preschool the next day.
