Started the day with chocolate chip pancakes (Mickey mouse ones for Audrey) and then rushed over to Del Mar dog beach to beat the crowds to a parking spot. We got lucky and got a spot close! Considering it was a hot day (in the 80's) we expected it to be busy and I think it was a tad bit busier than the last time we were there but I still felt ok and safe. The water was cold! We unfortunately didn't get much swimming in but did do lots of jumping in the water and collecting kelp and sea shells. Super mom here packed some spam musubi made that morning for lunch. We left around noon and made it back in time for nap. This was Audrey's 2nd time seeing grandma in covid and she was very happy and adorably demanded grandma to go with her to get water and collect kelp. SO cute!
During Audrey's nap I went to pick up these xiao long baos we ordered online from Yummi Dumplings. 50 for $25. We had them for dinner and they were delicious.
Sunday, we planned to take it easy at home. We had bacon, egg, avocado, cheese, croissant sandwiches - so good! Next we had yard time trying to do yard chores but Audrey wanted our attention. It is so hard to get anything done with her. I tried to occupy her with chalk paint and bubbles in her water table to wash her toys but she wanted us to do it with her. As I said to Jeff, I have to remind myself that this is not forever and soon she will not want us to do those things with her anymore. I need to treasure these moments with her. It is just hard when the yard is going wild again! Our drought friendly "low maintenance" yard is very needy. Deep breaths!
Audrey scootered on dog walk and I skate boarded for the first time since early June when I royally ruined my knee skinning it at Miramar Lake. Good time!
We ordered some SHanghai Chinese food for dinner from A Bowl, a new to us CHinese place because the good Mama Lu equivilent in SD, Tasty Noodle is busy AF and located in a parking nightmare plaza. Now they've moved outdoor dining in that plaza to the parking lot, I can't even imagine what it's like. Turned out good because A Bowl was pretty good and a breeze for pick up. They were not busy at all but hopefully they stay in business.
Today, Monday, Animal theme day at Audrey's preschool. We put her in her whale print PJs with a whale hair clip. She looked so very cute <3 It was also a no nap day because she needed to poop during nap time. Turned out ok and she is currently knocked out asleep.
Jeff and I have been doing Les Mills Body Combat. This is my 4th week doing it. It feels good to be working out again. I am my heaviest ever - not counting pregnancy. I am bigger than post baby because pants that fit me then do not fit me now :X I live in lots of stretchy pants. Weighed in at like 153 the other day. Hoping to reach 140. Ideally back to pre Audrey weight in the high 130's. Here's to continued fitness and less stuffing my face.
