“Let me get this straight,” Buffy said slowly, glancing at the Scoobies to see if they looked as aggravated as she felt. “You lost a camper right out of camp, and you’ve just been sitting here preparing for your going away party?”
“Lost is such a strong word,” Dionysus said, waving a careless hand. It was like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Then again, he had turned Buffy into a dolphin several times already.
“I prefer misplaced.”
“He’s not a set of keys!” Xander protested.
“Please, son of darkness. Do you know how difficult it is to keep track of so many demigods?”
“Yeah, but have you ever had one disappear from camp before? From out of his own cabin?” Buffy demanded.
“Well, no…” Dionysus admitted.
“You’ve told us tons of times that monsters and enemies can’t enter here unless they’re let in,” Dawn said fiercely. “No one let anyone or anything past the borders that night, so that leaves either someone in camp, or someone in camp’s parent. Especially since Percy was in his cabin- under his dad’s direct protection.”
“You really should hang out with those troublemakers from Cabin Six less often,” Dionysus muttered.

“Rise and shine!”
Dawn ducked- a skill developed from years of practice at waking up her big sister the Slayer- as a perfectly aimed pillow flew out the door of Cabin Eight, hitting Annabeth hard enough to wind her.
“Why is your sister in this cabin?” Thalia asked for the third time, having heard the epic saga that was Buffy’s love life.
“She’s a Slayer. Didn’t we mention that?” Dawn said. Raising her voice, she added, “BUFFY! It’s NOON- get up!”
“Slayers and mornings aren’t mixy things,” Annabeth whispered to Thalia, who was looking puzzled by the proceedings.
Buffy appeared unexpectedly on the doorstep of the cabin. Dawn had expected to have to send Thalia in after her.
“Ok, Dawnie, what’s special about today that I have to be up at noon after hunting in the forest until sunrise?”
Dawn grinned.
“Buffy, Thalia. Thalia, Buffy. The Hunters of Artemis arrived this morning, Buffy, so you’re going to have cabinmates tonight. And Mr. D is throwing us a party.”
Buffy looked at the three of them suspiciously.
“Why? What’s going on?”
“He felt the first anniversary of your arrival was partyworthy,” Annabeth suggested.
“Nice try, wise girl. What’s the real sitch?”
