San Simeon, day 2! (with bonus babbling)

I AM TIRED~

(And stressed out because I am not working. Ugh. I CAN'T WIN~)

HAVE SOME MORE NATURE PICTURES LOL.

02/21: San Simeon, day 2!

Exotic Cambria - because every seaside needs a little town for Stephen King to write about. We met a lady selling beads made out of rocks she'd found to pay her way through her bike ride up the West Coast. I love Northern California sometimes.

...Especially when it looks like this~<3

The not-terrifying kind of seal. (Terrifying kind to come.)

In cute little piles~

THE TERRIFYING KIND. You can't tell from here, but man, they're scary. (I know, I know, I'm scared of weird things. But these are the size of freaking legless HORSES. BIG HORSES.)

Huge and scary. AND SO MANY. And man, watching them get frisky is a traumatic experience for everyone involved. I am so, so happy that I'm not a seal.

...And then, a bird. ^^;

Next, we went hiking on a beautiful trail...

FULL OF ATTACK SQUIRRELS. Seriously, these things had NO FEAR.

They would quite happily bumrush you if you got too close. O_o; None of this "more scared of you than you are of them" BS.

Oldest younger brother, being a bad example to the kids.

...His girlfriend has a cooler camera than mine, LOL. (But mine does a darn good job.) The two of them are DISGUSTINGLY ADORABLE. ^_~

And...poppies! Because I hadn't seen California poppies in what felt like a long time, and they're pretty. Some of the most vivid memories in my childhood are about these flowers. ^_^;

...And back to the sea, so the kids could get soaked and freezing cold again, before we went back to the room. 'Cuz that's what the ocean is for.

In other news: diet and exercise? Summer plans, and so on.

So a little while back I went to the doctor for the first time in FOREVER, and just for a check-up, too. He told me that I didn't have skin cancer, prescribed some crazy thing for my poor dry hands that I still *cough* haven't picked up yet and told me I needed to gain seven pounds and stop doing weight watchers.

Helps that we won a free chocolate cake at Vons the other day, and that counting things all the time makes me tired. But I'm determined to put on said pounds in muscle instead of fat, dammit, so I've been working out and trying my damnedest to eat a lot of protein. Some days are better than others. Today = 76g so far, and it took some effort. Isn't it sad that that's the LOW end of what even just a normally active person is supposed to eat in a day? -_-; Protein always comes hand in hand with lots of fat in food that is not nonfat milk, so I imagine I'll put on those pounds one way or another, LOL.

Ugh. Rereading this makes me feel stupid. I hate dieting in all its many forms. But I like feeling strong. I like feeling like I control my body and how it moves. Coordination does not come naturally to me, but I'm proud to say I can hold a barbell while standing on one foot, LOLZ. I feel like, having been kickboxing and things a few times a week, even my gestures are becoming crisper, but it could be just my imagination. I still look pretty wimpy. It'll be a few months before I can properly tell you that the snow is that way. -shakes head- SO MAKING CHAPTER 195 KANDA COSPLAY. I need to hurry and get buff so I can beat everyone else to it. They already beat me to by baby!Kanda/Alma set.

...Man, it's a little sad how hard I'll work for cosplay. Think about what else I could be doing with this energy. ^_^;

In other-other news, I'm planning to go on a trip to Northern California for a week in July, and then to Seattle to see my grandmother for another five days or so. HAHAHA $250 in travel expenses, plus food and whatever else I need to pay for up there, and me unemployed for two months. Anybody wanna split gas and drive up with me? My car has AC and will actually make it, now. I'd tell you about all the interesting things to see up north, but there aren't any, unless you like fields and orchards and want to see the lamest landmark and smallest mountain range (too separate attractions!) ever.

I need to find lucrative and stress-free work to do in August. -_-;;; If only I were good and fast enough at sewing to be properly commissioned.

Anyway, speaking of commissions, have to get back to the not-really-paid one that I'm doing right now, LOLOLOLZ. -___________-;;; If only I wasn't all @_x right now. Summer makes me so tired.
