My crazy sister - an open letter to my sister.
"My crazy sister."
Usually, that sentence is used to refer to me, and often used by my elder sister. I am the crazy sister.
What is it about me that makes me crazy?
My humor?
My off-center personality?
My actual insanity streaks?
It is all of the above that makes me crazy. I embrace the side of me that is "insane", that is not perfect, that is illogical.
Why does my sister call me crazy? Because I am.
Because it worries her.
Because she is going on her own crazy journey.
I've kept it off the online world long enough - my sister is in Seoul to further her studies. My smart-ass sister is going to pursue her Master's in Seoul. :'D
Who else to support her "crazy" decision other than the crazy me? Even though I knew that her leaving will mean leaving me alone to take care of the family. It means that I'll have to do whatever she used to do. It means I have to stop being crazy.
My sister has always been my role model. When I was younger, I hated to be compared to her. I hated the fact that she's smarter and better than me. But I can't change that fact - she IS smarter and better than me. No matter WHAT ANYONE says about my sister, she's the best. Along with my mom and grandma and uncle and me. LOL. Love my family so much, it's complicated, okay? Haha.
As I grew up, I decided, I'm not going to be LIKE my sister, but I will be like her.
Confusing much?
I want to be a force like her. I don't have to study the same subjects she did, I don't have to talk like her, I don't have to act like her or even dress like her. But I'll be like her. In my own crazy style.
So while she leaves to accomplish the next great thing in her life, so too will I.
Who knows, maybe in the future, we'll both be known as "The Crazy Sisters." I'm already one half of that. :D
언니, on your birthday today, I want to tell you: don't come home until you've had enough. Until you've done enough. Until you've found something else that you'll do after you're done with this. I'm extremely proud that you are my sister, and although I still have a long way to go, you will be proud of me too! Hehe. :D Happy Birthday and I love you!!! ♥
