"...you gotta make up your own damn mind."

I was pleasantly pleased and a little self congratulatory when finding out that J Baudrillard's Simulacra and Simulations was a required reading for the actors in the Matrix series. HA. I was actually doing work when watching The Matrix Sequels on Friday night! Honestly, I thought they were wonderful; the far too many action sequences aside. I think it was a well thought out plot, incorporating many computer jargons and Baudrillard's philosophy. I know many people thought it sucked, but I think if you bother analysing more reading the wikipedia plot summary - you might actually start to appreciate it.

Initially I thought there were many plot flaws, especially regarding the necessity of the preservation of Zion. But after reading the wiki entry on Reloaded (Sequel 1), I realised that understanding the Architect's little sermon was crucial to understanding quite the main crux of the story. And when you have the Architect jabbering away in low voices coupled with a low volume speaker, you best be hearing it again to fully understand it. :)

I still think there are many plot flaws but I like stories that leave little subtle hints and small connections around. The movie is replete with double entrendres, anagrams, dualisms, symbolisms - and I realy dig stuff like that, so apart from me being a complete computer noob (I still got the Oracle's little making cookies with Sati thing, k thanks for trying to confuse me) I really enjoyed it. Everyone should go watch it. It's awesome. True Story.

And I'm kinda in lovvvve with Hugo Weaving. He is Elrond, Agent Smith and V in V for Vendetta, which by the by is another awesome show. ME LIKE!

Edited to add: I really have nothing against the proposed Raffles name change... it is just that RI Secondary? Srsly, what the hell. Let's just call ourselves Bishan Junior College, k?
