Okay okay I haven't actually fallen off the planet, just fell into lurker mode for a while :P It's been a little hard to concentrate lately, I'm supposed to be putting stuff together for my MA capstone and figuring out if I'll be able to/want to go on to Ph.D. and I'm really terrified of disappointing my advisor ;-;
Finally caught up on a few year-end/New Year's shows ^^ I need to watch Music Station more often or something, it's the first time I've even heard of some of these groups.
FNS - Ah ha, taking the big 'Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana' grand finale thing from Kouhaku, I see. ...I always feel like this show must be really nervewracking to perform at, because the audience is all the other performers who are basically :| no matter how upbeat you get on stage. Unless you are Wada Akiko and Tokunaga Hideaki and have gorgeous awesome voices XD Other highlights: SMAP+the Love Psychedelico guitarist were adorable, Tsuyoshi really needs to change his hairstyle, and Heikeha! oh my goodness Gussan's voice. I hope they do more stuff together, I'm particularly fond of four out of the six and that is some awesome harmonizing for Johnny's guys.
CDTV - Awesome SMAP live! And jesus this thing is five hours long. Poor Nakai. I, uh, started shipping him and Becky about halfway through. Yeah, probably going to hell for that.
Kouhaku - I gotta say it: Arashi did an awesome job as MCs. They had just the right mood, and they're so good at filling in each other's spaces that it felt like there weren't any of those awkward pauses that usually come with live programs. I'm sure Nakai will get another turn at MC sometime, but I honestly would not mind if Arashi hosted again next year. (After all, if Nakai hosts CDTV again next year, that means we get another mini-SMAP live!)
Nakai no Kakezan - Hee, for some reason I really like the little subtitle, "multiply Nakai by someone." It's cute XD Anyways, I kind of made grabby hands when I saw this because Leader x Leader x Leader! How can that not equal pure awesome XD I crave SMAP/other group interaction, and it's fascinating to see what their relationships are actually like. Joshima and Nakai are practically a comedy duo XD And Joshima calls him "Nakai-chan." And the pictures!

Giant shoulderpads aside, so adorable~ :D
Also, Nakai claims that no one calls him Leader, but I've definitely heard Shingo call him that, and Tsuyoshi refers to him that way in his essays sometimes. I kind of doubt it for Kimura and Goro, though :P
I have more Nakatsu fluff~
Title: Drunk
Pairing: Nakai/Tsuyoshi
Rating: G
Note: Inspired by the mini-drama thing they did for Yozora no Mukou ^^
"C'mon, you can't sleep on the floor." Tsuyoshi is a little drunk, but not as much as Nakai, who is sprawled on the floor of his hotel room singing something horribly off-key to himself. Tsuyoshi manages to hoist his bandmate upright, and together they stagger towards the bed.
Nakai giggles suddenly and leans against him, fingers brushing the nape of his neck. "Who'll look after me when I'm drunk?" he slurs, smiling happily. His other hand finds Tsuyoshi's cheek and then somehow Tsuyoshi has missed a moment in time because his bandmate is kissing him, lips rough and warm against his own. Nakai pulls back, blinking in faint confusion and patting his cheek fondly. "Tsuyoshi," he murmurs, and flops down onto the bed with a yawn. He's asleep in seconds.
Tsuyoshi wanders back to his own room, distractedly tripping over his feet, the carpet, the edge of his bed. He's not sure whether Nakai will remember in the morning or not, but somehow, his last thought before he falls asleep is-- it wouldn't be so bad if he did.
