I am slowly descending into madness. here, have some fic recs. now with Fem!Bilbo!
Title: Of Brass Buttons and Waistcoats ♥

Summary: Thorin glanced down at himself again with a gruff sigh; he had been living in The Shire for little over a year now, clad still in his heavy furs and thick leather boots, a layer of armour constantly tucked under his clothing as precaution. Bilbo didn’t mind, but it set the tongues of Hobbits wagging furiously with one another.
Why: Thorin retires to the shire is now one of my favorites tropes in this fandom. Also struggling and awkward Thorin who cannot get used to the this life and desperately tries to fit for Bilbo’s (and Frodo’s) sake is just so so so endearing. Also Fili and Kili being little shits.

Summary: Master Baggins will stare at members of the company when he thinks no one is watching, of course, he has failed to notice that a certain dwarven prince is always watching.
Why: I admit, I have a bit of a shaving kink. As in, I like reading fics where one person shaves the other, because it’s so intimate and vulnerable thing. This fic was adorable and sweet with a tiny dash of angst and oh, so good. Bilbo shaving Thorin and them establishing a connection. Also, Bilbo and his curiosity about dwarven facial hair and his binding with Kili about this was cute.

Summary: The clamour of battle has ceased around him and Thorin finally register the true expanse of carnage it has brought.
Why: a little ficlet based on one of Kaciart’s works. Thorin cradles both his nephews and Bilbo after the final battle and feels relief. Really nice and heartwarming.

Why: This is a sort of continuation to ‘what?’ where fem!Bilbo had her period and the company was stunned to learn that Bilbo was a girl. This is funny and hilarious and cute with the dwarves eavesdropping on Thorin and Bilbo’s awkward conversation.

Why: Oh I adored this fic so much! It was such a good family gen with the Durins but also with Balin and Dwalin and a smidge of Thilbo in the background. Fili was wonderfully rendered and Kili was adorable and the whole fic warmed my heart. Sigh.

Why: I should be appalled by the number of misunderstanding fics that I read, but then again, I read fics to fulfill my different need, rather than the ones I have while reading a book for example. I liked the way this fic was written with introspective, and the right amount if detail to be intriguing, but not too dense and not too lacking in description. Obligatory happy end of course. obligatory happy end of course.

Why: When I read that one fic fem!Bilbo having her period I did not expected to crave for more so strongly. And then I read this one and I TOTALLY did not expect my innocent craving for lady Bilbo to spiral into an abyss of crazy lust for A FUCKING PREGNANT FEM!BILBO. OH GOD. Not. This is bad. Very very bad. And this fic is not helping, because it’s so good. So very good. Ugh.

Why: OH THIS ONE. Bilbo gets sick after the battle and Thorin goes to him. And then he sings to him. And the ending could be interpreted in two ways and that is why it hurts so good. Sigh.

Why: OKAY NO WHY DO I LIKE FEM!BILBO SO MUCH? GRRR. And also, this is (almost) porn, and I am again breaking the rules for not reccing porn for this ship (save me some shame ok?) but noooo, I had to go on and read this and love it. WITH CURIOUS VIRGIN THORIN. OK BYE. But is almost does not feel like pron. It’s very subtle yet straight to the point, but not crude and not too poetic. Just. Lovely. ALSO VIRGIN THORIN ‘experimenting’. Yes good.
