Another update to VV happened at some point! I have another brewing too, but for now, a few sample pics in ya ear:

And in other news, I’m on the brink of another routine change, and just trying to ready myself for it (I’ll be a fairly busy bee), but if it works out I’ll be that much closer to recovery ^^

It’s been an awful time violence-wise lately, hasn’t it...como siempre. I rather dread the news each morning. But still working and trying to get by...Lemme see, what else have I done, what to remember with happiness? Saturday I went to Renegade Craft Fair, had fun walking around and viewing all the Pokemon hunters, and came away with a lovely oxidized silver curved bone ring with a little white sapphire from Alana Douvros, a bracelet from another booth that WAS really cute (crystals inside a woven wire tube, thin) but that broke on the third day of wearing it D:, and some expensive, but CRAZILY buttery white chocolate toffee. Mmm. Though I didn’t buy anything from her yet, Fernworks dimensional scenes/jewelry also caught my eye, they're wonderful in person with their tiny layers. Sunday I went on another Shadowrun, I think the next to last one, so I’ll need a new RPG group soon, maybe I’ll check out something online if I can’t scrape one together. I’m wanting to try the regular D&D experience, get some of those references under my belt.

On the 4th R was working so I had my near sis-in-law over to make cake batter popsicles and keep me painting company, and after we went to the Alamo Drafthouse to see Swiss Army Man, which was pretty hipstery but also funny and quite ambitious. And the food was friggin’ expensive but served screenside and GOOD. I partook in riblets, a key-lime pie shake and this mouth-conqueringly savory truffle parmesan butter popcorn, glaghalhagah. Before that I went to the SF ballpark simulcast of the opera Carmen, snuggled in a blanket with hot chocolate, which was cool - ends kind of abruptly, doesn’t it? But they styled it all 80’s with cars on stage and everything, which provided some really cute distraction, although it kind of muddled the message about who everyone was supposed to be (I get the gypsies, but in what position were the others, well off? Hard to say!). Beautiful singing.
Oh, and before that I finally experienced the rich deliciousness of Chef Tom's Belly Burgers. Oh lord are those pork belly patties good. I'd been on the fence about that place, afraid that the burgers would taste organy, but no, just amazing, soft, bacony meaty goodness, dressed in Vietnamese caramel, cilantro and chopped egg in my case. Ach. Very dangerous. Great cheese fries too.

Currently I'm painting a lot to cute animal vet practice shows :P Oh, and HBO's The Night Of is looking really promising ^^ I’m into it even though the commercials made it look kind of cheesy - It comes off completely differently actually watching it - good writing makes such a fundamental difference. The characters, for the most part, feel as fleshed out and natural sounding as they did in The Wire, always a huge plus - and I’m enjoying the way the cinematography invites speculation. It’s hard to say whether James Gandolfini would have played the character more effectively, but John Tuturro’s itchy and harried lawyer performance is rather excellent. Plus, we get a ‘casual insider’ view into the routines/idiosyncrasies of the penal system from ‘start’ (of offense) to (presumably) ‘finish’, and all involved (sleeping cops, etc.). Doing well by me so far this summer, HBO! I’m pretty intrigued by Westworld too ^^ may be high budgeted, well-written sci-fi? Could always use more of that!

Poor R got his tools stolen from his truck, so that means summer belt tightening because it’ll all be costly to replace, but it should still be an eventful next month or so. Stuff to look forward to: May go see secret life of Pets this weekend, as I enjoy both Louie CK and System of a Down...we can finally check out Die Antwoord live if we’re able to get tix, and looking forward to seeing all the dolly locals again soon to celebrate Kelly’s life once more with a slightly fancy tea party! Things are moving fast, so I'm looking for reasons to slow down and smile a bit...
