The sads! Fear the Walking Dead was pretty lackluster -_-

Kim Dickens, the main reason I'd been watching, did her part well in the acting, but the script really didn't give much to go on. It's okay with me if it starts off slowly as long as there's still some interest there in the depiction of the mundane. Everything felt really generic, which could be part of the point - that perhaps these are characters who only open up and become interesting under duress - but that doesn't really give me a handle on why I should be watching in the first place. The script was like it was from a Lifetime special. Junkie son is pretty much the cleanest junkie son ever, angry-for-no-reason daughter is a snoozefest, I'm getting nothing distinct from the teacher parents at all, except yay they're teachers and good and kind and hardworking, etc, etc. No reason why this locale is the backdrop has yet surfaced - no one even acts any different than they would have in Georgia, and the only location with a specific nature is the drug den, which I feel they could easily have in Georgia. No draw from details whatsoever, no distinctions. It was SLIGHTLY interesting that the drug dealer showed such a different 'longtime clean cut friend' face to the parents, but then that didn't really go anywhere for obvious reasons. Well, we'll see how it goes I guess!
