Hmmm...

There is this weird, outdated stigma which is really quite frustrating me.

It's this idea that taking medication to regulate one's mood is a bad, or weak thing.

Some people have a natural deficiency of the chemicals in the brain that make them 'happy.'

This is not their fault.

It is not society's fault, it is not the individual's fault.

If they need medicine to help them feel better, what the fuck does it have to do with you? It doesn't matter what you think. It's how it makes the person feel. That's what matters.

So what if therapy can do the same job? Not everyone has the time or money to go out and get therapy. And even then, therapy won't restore the chemicals in the brain which regulates these things, so all you'll get is coping techniques and a small burst of sunshine before the rainclouds come back.

I appreciate that meds may not be suitable in the long run, due to side effects and dependency issues and whatnot. For that, I don't really have a comeback - Other than that people know their own bodies, and will not be told how they are feeling or what treatment they require, because a person KNOWS their own body and knows what will work best for them.

... Phew.
