I've got three more drawings to do for my sketchbook right now before 3:30pm today. I just got done drawing the clouds from the roof of the parking garage, but I don't have it in me to draw anymore right now, so I'll leave the last few until I get home I think. I don't think filling up this sketchbook would be so bad if I didn't feel like I can't have any comic work in it. Right now it's mostly life drawing, and after drawing so much life you begin to ask yourself, well, what can I draw now that isn't boring, because everything becomes boring after a while. There are only so many drawings you can do of your cat, your feet, your shoes and so on. I think this afternoon I will draw some trees as I need the research anyway for a future drawing project.
Yesterday we switched over our satellite TV to AT&T, and we have a new internet set-up now. It was kind of rough not having the internet for the greater part of yesterday. Now that everything is all said and done though, both me and my brother have satellite TV in our rooms, YAY! So now we can pitch those worthless digital adapter things we bought with our government monies, but I've already ranted about those so I digress. Anyhow now I just have to get my room put back together after the ordeal. It's funny, but I have a certain threshold of messy, and if the room hits or exceeds that threshold, no work can be done in that room until it is cleaned. This is the case of my room at the moment.
I've got the first chapter of my new illustrated novel done, and it's been edited many times, and may even be edited yet again even after I type this. Either way it's time to move onto the illustrations for it. I've also decided on a title for the new work, thanks to the suggestion of a friend of mine. The title for my illustrated novel is going to be: A Design of the Heart, and may have the subtitle "An Unlikely Office Romance." I also like the saying I made up of "When Mr. Right Happens to Be Your Boss." but we'll see. I know I said previously that I'd like to get the first chapter up with all it's illustrations by the end of the month, but with my current lethargy as far as drawing is concerned, I just don't think that's going to happen. I have drawing homework every weekend now, plus a sketchbook to keep, so when I'm not drawing something for class, I really don't feel like drawing.
Saturday School will be starting this weekend, and it's looks like my class will be a go, although it will be small. This year enrollments were way down for the program at large, due in part to a resignation further up in the food chain. With Saturday School coming up I'm going to have to get all of my materials prepped and ready to go for the first day of class. I figure I can spend Friday doing that. I think for the first class we will be talking about scripting and character design. I already have a heap of sample scripts together thanks to my comic-arty friends, and I've already selected the character design sheets I'd like to show them, so all I have left to do is scan them in and put them in a PDF format online for them.
Well, I think I've rambled on long enough, and also stressed myself out reminding myself of all the work I have yet to do, so it's time to sign off. I just hope Contemporary Art History goes fast this morning as I just want to get back to the house and get some things cleaned up before I have to come back for my 3:30 class
