I'm impressed. I've encountered some genuinely nice people lately. That's always nice to know that even "these days" there are some kind spirited people roaming about. Firstly was the awesome maintenance guy who came to check on the drains in the apartment. He not only fixed the reported problem, but also took care of a loose faucet and rinsed the water heater drain. All the while he made pleasant conversation about the work at hand. Great news is he took care of our little gnat infiltrators as well. Apparently they hole up in the drain, but not any more. Yay ^_^
The next was the guy in line at the post office. I assumed since he had official looking stickers, he'd already been helped, so I took the next spot. Then someone came in after me and asked if he was in line. He said yes. I was embarrassed that I took his spot in line and moved back. But when the postal clerk asked for the next in line the guy let me go without saying anything nasty. And then when I got up to the postal clerk, I realized I was at the wrong post office entirely. Instead of treating me like a fool, the man gave me clear directions on how to get to the correct place. As I was leaving, another patron held the door for me and also gave me directions on how to get to the other post office with helpful landmarks included. At the other post office, the clerk there was just really friendly. She didn't have that overworked, mechanical performance of her job. It was like she sincerely enjoyed helping people with their postal needs. I hope that's true. Hurray for kind people.
