I don't know where it comes from

I Dream in Crack
So lately I've been dreaming in rather vivid versions of crack. Last night was no exception. I'm rather embarrassed to really say what it was about, but basically it was post apocalyptic from some kind of "silverizing" disease. There was lots of running involved, and finally I ended up at some party thrown by one of the new leaders who had sprung up. Lots of TV stars in this one, people from Law and Order and Bruce Willis just for good measure (but he got silverized). The party was bizarre. Lots of fluffy and ruffly costumes and feathers. I got selected to be part of an auction, but through most of it had the "Gutentag hop clop" song stuck in my head.  Later, because I wasn't following the rules, I got stuck in a car that looked very like Tenrai's. Somehow I ended up holding coffee maker with a mostly empty pot. The last thing I said was, "No more coffee."  Does that mean I need to cut out any sort of caffeine intake?

Saturday Night
Earlier in the day, I went with my dad to Peoria to hang out while he played a gig with "Uncle" Jimmy.  I haven't seen that man since I was about 2 years old. Talk about a blast from the past. He really hasn't changed. Only now I'm taller than he is. So that was fun, mostly. It's good to know my secret charms are still working, but it's not cool when they attract older men. There was a guy at the bar making jokes in rather poor taste at his wife's and my expense. >_>;;  Met a nice girl there who's been friends with Jimmy since she was 12. Amazing set a pipes on that one. She wants to go to Art school and has a soft spot for anime, so we got along right well. It's been a long time though since I've had a "conversation" with someone in fan girl Japanese.

A Word on Comcraps
My parents used to have insight for the cable company and internet through the phone company. Insight, at least around here, got eaten by Comcast. Already paying for cable, it'd be cheaper to change the internet service over to Comcast, too. So the guy came over and did his thing. The modem box got hooked up in my room because they need the cable thingy.  Where my parents have their computer set up, there isn't any such connector. I'm used to the all in one router/modem we had in the Chi-land apartment. This modem only thing had me confused. But the guy sets it up. That's always funny. What? You're a former IT guy and you don't know how to deal with Linux? Next it came time to set up the thing router thing, which we had to buy separately from a third party (Walmart)  that's supposed to broadcast a wireless signal upstairs to the 'rents computer. Sigh. He says he's legally not supposed to set that up, but he's poking at it anyway. Linux throws a pitch fit about it being promiscuous or something like that. I've had it with this guy. I think on the Comcraps application there are two little boxes to check: One for "jerk" and the other for "misogynist." If you check both it's an instant hire regardless of your other qualifications. Anyway, I'm fed up the the guy so I tell him to just go. So I'm not really sure what to do about the situation now. I'm really tempted just to cut holes in the walls and floors and run a cable line up to my parents' computer. Either that or call a different Comcast location and see if we can't get the all in one thing like we had in Chi-land. *~*Special*~*
