Too Damn Early and Too Damn Cold
-Yawning- Just woke up, and I'm waiting for my body to defrost a little so I can get out of bed and figure out where everyone else is. Snagged a few quizzes while I was at it. -Kicks LiveJournal for being a pain-
Yesterday I had the best Thanksgiving I can remember having in years. We went to my brother's aunt's house and were surrounded by people I'm just getting to know, and people I hadn't met yet. Oh, and he and I kidnapped one of my sisters from SoCal to spend the weekend with us. -Grins happily- But as for the dinner, the 'kids table' with the twenty-something year olds and their children was loud and fun, the place setting was adorable (we had turkey-shaped cupcakes with our names on them for place holders, and everybody had their own tiny salt and pepper shaker), and I felt more at welcome and at home there than I've ever felt at one of my own family's Thanksgivings. The only one that could maybe *possibly* top it was the year my dad made a vegetarian Thanksgiving for me, my sister, and her new boyfriend.
I was a little worried about the day at first, because you know how celebrating a holiday with someone else's family is usually so much fun. -Rolls her eyes- And right before we left I got an e-card from my dad; all it said was 'Happy Thanksgiving, love Dad and Mom'. >.< So I was prepared to have another crappy holiday. Then we got there, my brother's mom started introducing my sister and I to everyone we didn't know, and his grandpa - who I have met before - gave me a hug and said it was great to see me. -Beams- I swear I glowed for at least five minutes after that.
-Stretches- I should probably attempt to move now, and see where my sister wandered off to.
