challon86 talked me into trying Camp NaNoWriMo last night. I'd been thinking about it, but I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to or not, since I tend to epically fail at NaNo, but as she pointed out:
challon86: Worth a shot. Even if you lose, at least you did something on it. More than you might have had you not tied
challon86: tried*
Akume: Very true.
Akume: Thanks. ♥
challon86: Always ♥
I wasn't sure what I wanted to work on though, which led to more debating with her today. There was the option of continuing what I've *been* trying to work on, which is Through Topaz Eyes, or attempting to start Through Sapphire Eyes. Both of these are for my Mages of Tydor series, but it's still technically two novels. Or will be someday.
I'm kind of torn, because I REALLY REALLY want to finish Through Topaz Eyes. And there's
this picture from DeviantArt I commented on the other day which had totally inspired me, and the artist just replied to my comment to say thank you and that she was flattered, wish me luck on my story. ^.^ Which is like, a sign. Or something.
But then there's also the prologue for Through Sapphire Eyes that popped into my head a few days ago, which also has some really fun characters that I want to work with. I don't know where it's gonna go beyond that initial prologue, though. -Frowns- I had a vague thought of something to do with sandcastles for one scene which is probably
challon86 and
rosabelle's fault, but that's about it.
So ... after some thought and
challon86's suggestions, I'm probably just going to work on whatever inspiration hits me at the time. That's what I usually do, but. Either way at least I'm going to be writing no matter what, which is the whole point. And writing is always good.
So in the spirit of the insanity that is about to begin, I offer you all:
TUTORIAL: How to make OCs and not Stereotypes - This was one of the DailyDeviations for today. I was prepared to roll my eyes at it, but it was kind of interesting and makes some good points. Not that anyone on my Friends List really needs it. ^_~
summer delight - Another daily deviation that made my jaw drop and brought hearts to my eyes. *_* Anyone who's seen the movie Tangled will appreciate this. So will anyone who hasn't.
And of course, this song, which has been in my head all day as my current theme song for the coming project. Which should be the theme for all of us, really. ♥
