30 Days of PR Meme Day 19
My arm itches. Right where I got my tetnus shot, too. -Frowns at it-
Current update in the Injured Akume situation: I have regained control of my foot and toes, which makes me incredibly happy (I very much like being able to pick stuff up with my toes), But my knee still hurts LOTS, and is starting to look molten from the bruised and torn skin on my kneecap starting to heal. Still can't walk. Also had the fun experience earlier of trying to scoot back on my bed to lean against the wall, only to have my knee go to the left while the rest of my leg moved to the right. There was much whimpering and keyboard smashing for a couple minutes. x.x
My hope of winning NaNo this year has pretty much died, seeing as I'm still at less than 2000 words, and between pain and evil painkillers and their nauseating side effects, I'm already contemplating a nap even though I've only been awake for about two hours. -Sighs sadly-

1) The original team. They knew each other inside and out, even though they were the sort of group that had absolutely no reason to be friends. (Excluding possibly Jason and Kimberly, as 'jock' and cheerleader. *Maybe* Jason and Zack.) They just had this bond that so few of the other teams really had. And they just adopted Tommy like he'd always been meant to be there. When Rocky, Adam, and Aisha showed up, it wasn't quite the same.
2) Rocky and Justin. Yeah, yeah, I know they didn't really show them together much. But I find the important things in the subtext. Like the way Justin totally panicked when Rocky was hurt, enough to sneak into his hospital room? He was barely talking to Kat and Tanya at that point, but he was clearly worried about Rocky. You can either argue that Rocky trusted/respected Justin enough to give him his communicator and send him in his place, or that he was totally high on medication and Zordon was desperate. But then there's the first episode of Turbo, when they're telling Rocky about the Turbo Powers and the trip to Miranthius. Justin is totally leaning into Rocky, and Rocky has an arm around him. Justin doesn't act that way with *anyone*. He gets more comfortable with the other Rangers as time goes on, and again with the second cast of Turbo, but he doesn't do arms around the shoulders or hugs so much, and even then they're brief. Just with Rocky.
3) Andros and Zhane. Whether you take their relationship as friendship, romance, or something in between, there's such a bond between them. The fact that Andros was desperate enough to keep Zhane in a cryotube, when he was supposed to be dead. The fact that when Zhane actually *does* die, even if it's only briefly, Andros freaks out. And Zhane *knows* Andros. He knows when to push at him, when to let him be. He knows when he's in trouble, and he's always there to bail him out.
And when they fight together? Dude. Watch out Dark Spectre.
4) The Time Force team, which is sort of like a reincarnation of the original team for me. If Jason and Kim switched spots, anyway. And genders. -Shoos away bunnies- They had hugs! And popcorn night! And pancakes! What's not to love? They went from a team to a family, and you can barely see the difference unless you're looking for it.
5) Conner, Ethan, and Kira. Granted, I am totally a Conner/Ethan fan, because the banter between them is hilarious and filled with subtext, but looking at the three of them as a group? They're so awesome. They *grow* as a unit, from barely tolerating one another to true friends. They support and encourage each other, they're protective, and yet they are never afraid to say when one of them is being stupid.
I do have issues with the three of them when it comes to Trent, but that's another topic.
6) Jack, Sky, Bridge, Z, and Syd. Pretty much for the same reasons as Conner, Ethan, and Kira. They have no reason to like one another, and pointedly can't stand one another at first, but by the time the season ends, they're tracking Jack's butt down and informing him he's not allowed to leave them. Plus there's always S.W.A.T., which, ideally should have been earlier in the season, but the fact that they go from bickering to that awesome 'We still *are* a team. At least, I still are?' 'I are, too.' ♥
