"i touched my girlfriend" - i love how offhand that is - not offhand that she killed someone she loved, but how she could be saying "i touched my boyfriend" or "i touched my mom." they're not playing her sexuality for, well, sex. she's not the hot lesbian/bi chick who's there to make out with another hot girl. i really like that. it's refreshing.

i'm officially creeped out. i really like ava and andy and i'm really creeped out, and i really like that jake can tell sam's freaking the fuck out inside, and i kind of want to shake sam for not believing dean that it's going to be ok, that dean's looking out for him, but i totally understand the impulse. whatever's coming really is much bigger than they've ever dealt with, and now sam's stuck somewhere without phone reception and no way to tell dean where he is and no way to escape. so yeah, i get that he doesn't have a lot of faith.
the demon wants sam to be his general. everything so far has been a test to see which of the spooky kids survives, which one is strongest. and sam's life, which trained him to fight and kill demons, is the one thing that makes him the most likely candidate to be this demonic general. i do love me some bitter irony.
so the demon did kill jess to push sam back into the life! i guessed that! well, theorized it, anyway.
how did mary recognize the demon? "it's you." the ptb have been reading fanfic, haven't they. seriously, so much of this episode feels like a really good fanfic. i love it.

...i know how this episode's going to end. i saw the scenes for next week last week. my guess is jake stabs him or something, because jake's got the superstrength and he's walking out of there, dammit.
