(no subject)
someone explain to me why it's quarter to four in the morning and i'm still awake? no, really. people in other parts of the world are waking up and getting on with their sundays and i'm still sitting here in my jeans and this green shirt that's too big for me, faffing about online and typing. yeesh.
on the other hand, my radio station has been playing old songs since thursday - the leftover weekend - "old" in this case meaning "'alternative' songs from the 70s, 80s. and 90s." like, echo and the bunnymen, and husker du, and the fixx, and the the, and the hoodoo gurus. this is nostalgia music for me. plus which, i really like this song.

what do i do with it....
i heard adam ant while i was driving around yesterday. goody two-shoes. i remember the video for that song - it had amanda pays in it, because i think she was dating adam ant at the time, and now she's married to corbin bernsen and it doesn't matter what movies she's been in or what guest spots on what tv shows (or what videos :> ), because she'll always be theora from max headroom to me.
...i'm really dating myself, aren't i. matt frewer was in taken, and i swear when i was flipping channels i stopped on the scifi channel in the middle of some scene he was in, and i flailed at the tv and squeaked "max headroom!" and then "oh my god, he looks old." well, ok, if you remember that max headroom was on when i was in high school....
(the guy who played blank reg, whose name i don't know, was the executioner in lady jane. i recognized him by his voice, for the one or two lines the executioner gets. for a while i had the same reaction to anything cary elwes was in that i have to amanda pays - i always saw him as guilford dudley, floppy-haired and doomed.) (er. was he robert dudley's brother? lizzie the first's robert dudley? tom hardy and/or joseph fiennes robert dudley? dietcokebreak? am i incredibly dense for not figuring this out already?)
and while i was typing this and occasionally stopping to listen to the radio and look up max headroom trivia and try to determine if guilford-husband-of-lady-jane and robert-beloved-of-elizabeth were brothers, it got to be quarter past four. and i'm still awake. any longer and i'll have to eat something.
but! i can't go to bed yet, because now they're playing antmusic! *gets a grip* i vaguely remember the video to this song too. my god, i AM old. i remember adam ant when he was sane. heh.
...ok, song over, i can go to bed now. i'll probably just stare at the ceiling and think about nash and daniel wandering around barcelona, daniel having drunk waaaay too much sangria and nash being amused....
