man, i don't even remember what happened this year. i got to go to florida and atlanta and new york but not italy. four different suits - civil and federal - in as many states have been brought against twice impeached former president cheetolini. the us house of representatives voted fifteen times for a new speaker and several months later booted him out anyway. republicans turned governing into a clown show. the chinese floated a spy balloon over montana. someone tried to drive his car off the top of the parking garage at the t station near me. friend r got married and i bought a dress and shoes i love but don't know when i'll ever wear again. the us saw hot strike summer (including grindr employees but thankfully not ups because 340k workers is a lot of packages not being delivered) and the wga and sag-aftra struck together for the first time since 1960. my sister threw a huge birthday party and i got to spend time with cousins i never see. canada caught fire, yikes. elon musk rebranded twitter as x and continued to drive it into the ground. hamas lobbed some missiles into israel and killed a bunch of israelis and the israeli response has been wildly disproportionate and is doing them no favors. i saw some movies and watched some tv and read some books and wrote some stuff and cross stitched a little and curled ok and did some experimental baking (raisin pie!) and did not kill my roommate and she did not kill me. and henry kissinger FINALLY kicked the bucket so you know it hasn't been the worst timeline.

i still love where i live and i still like my job and my coworkers and i still think you're a fabulous and fabulously weird bunch of people (even if i'm terrible at showing it) and i'm glad i get to be part of your lives.
