i think i've recovered from my weekend of constant family and am ready to be among people again. which is a good thing because my roommate talks A LOT. like, dumb stuff - something she saw on twitter or instagram, tv ads (for some reason her response is always "i'm so confused"), birds, whatever. it's kind of a trial to live with if you're really feeling your inner introvert, so it's a good thing i'm not any more.
our upstairs neighbor randomly gifted us some yams. she apparently bought them thinking they were sweet potatoes but because she likes sweet potatoes better than yams she gave them to us. i'm not complaining but is there even a difference?
the weather's been so nice i sat outside for lunch today and yesterday, and i mention that so when it's 85º in a couple days and i'm bitching about it, you can remind me how nice it is to be able to sit outside for an hour without a coat.
I need you
the way astonishment,
which is really just
the disruption of routine,
requires routine.
Isn’t there
a shock, though-
a thrill-
to having done
what we had to?
Unequally, but
in earnest, we love
as we can,
he used to mumble,
not so much his
mouth moving,
more the words
themselves sort of
staggering around lost
inside it . . . Now
show me
exactly what
you think being brave
is.
