i am so full of food and fun
i have now failed TWICE to a. find the banana room and b. steal some bananas. i think i found it on wednesday and if i did it's more of a lounge, like where students can go to study, and there was... A STUDENT there. O.O last week was spring break so i thought it would be a great time to sneak into the students' snack room and take some snacks without anyone looking at me wondering what this non-student-looking person was doing taking their bananas, but NO. i was THWARTED. and thursday the weather was just too gross to go outside. and yesterday i worked from home. maybe next week.
today friend a had a birthday party for her hubs at a restaurant/bar not far from where used to live. i drove by the old building and someone was painting it! it didn't look any different otherwise and i wonder if whoever bought it did anything inside. anyway. the party was fun - we had the whole restaurant altho it's not a big place - and the food was good and i had a tasty cocktail with sour patch kids as a garnish. (fun! and, uh, sour.) and it was just nice to see people in person. i hope that never gets old.
and then i came home and cut almost 1200 words from my bigbang and then tried to make up for it. it's still only 12k or so. i know what the story is, i just can't... write it. hmph, self.
if you were bar or bat mitzvahed in the us in the early 2000s, chances are you might have used a program called tropetrainer to learn your torah portion. this is the story of the guy who created it and what happened to it, and him. (it's an interesting and kind of sad story even if you're not jewish and were never bar or bat mitzvahed and have no idea what a trope is outside of fic.)
