IT WAS SNOWING WHEN I WOKE UP THIS MORNING. :DDD AND THEN IT KEPT SNOWING. :DDD I WAS VERY EXCITED. it was a great day to sit around the house and do nothing, and while i didn't do nothing, i didn't do much. work was slow. also i learned that the director of my department is originally from... transylvania. :D how seasonally appropriate.
i turned on my heat and put the flannel duvet cover on my bed so it can be almost-winter now.
also, happy birthday to
apiphile, who apparently spent the day getting presents and seeing art and eating sushi. which is an excellent way to spend one's birthday, if you ask me.
this woman is ready to vote! she's got her grown folks hair on, she's got her chair, she's got her snacks, she is prepared. (she only had to wait an hour and a half.)

a woman in texas decorated her front lawn with pole-dancing skeletons. people complained, the hoa got involved, a "take those down" notice was served. halloween falls before the deadline. guess what's staying on the lawn. :D
and in neither voting nor halloween news, the us supreme court once ruled that tomatoes are officially a vegetable, even tho they're botanically a fruit. the case was brought by a produce company that wanted to avoid paying tax on imported veg. (because of course it was money-related.) they lost.
