books i read and books i don't remember

What I just finished reading:
pumpkinheads, written by rainbow rowell and drawn by faith erin hicks, because there was nothing in my sub folder at the comic shop on saturday, and i'm apparently physically incapable of walking out of that place without buying something. >.< pumpkinheads is VERY CUTE (it's about two high schoolers and their last night working the local pumpkin patch) and makes me curious about rainbow rowell's novels.

What I am reading now:
still good omens. the fact that i've seen the show means a. i have very clear pictures of the characters, and b. i keep going "they didn't change that at all, did they" and "i'm not sorry they cut that out". neither of these is a bad thing.

What I'm going to read next:
still no idea.

so the book meme was like a month ago and i'm finally getting around to answering questions. >.< as requested by murielle:

3. What is the oldest book you have ever read? (Based on its written date)
probably the iliad and the odyssey, altho i've read the old testament, so maybe that? i don't know what the original publication date of the pentateuch is.

12. What book do you passionately hate?
if i passionately hated it i stopped reading it, and if it was something i read in college or grad school, i've totally wiped it from my memory. which is to say, i can't think of any.

22. What famous author have you not read any books by?
does joe hill count? because i even got as far as buying one of his books but haven't read it yet because i don't do horror. (so why did i buy it? optimism.)

23. Who is your favourite author of all time?
AGH THIS IS AN AWFUL QUESTION. i don't have a favorite author of all time. i mean, time's not over yet. :D can i cheat with "an author i've loved for a long time"? because william gibson. he's been consistently fantastic for thirty years (altho i didn't love idoru like i loved a lot of his other stuff).

39. What book offended you?
i can't think of any of these either! this is probably a cop-out answer but it's true. i'm not generally offended by the books i read.

40. What is the weirdest book you have read?
the griffin and sabine trilogy, by nick bantock. they're all weird in the same way, so they all count. :D possibly also if on a winter's night a traveler by italo calvino, altho i remember it being weird but not what was weird. (i read it in college, like a million years ago.)

feel free to ask more!

i watched the pilot of stumptown because cobie smulders, and some of it was a surprise and some of it wasn't, but at least i wasn't thinking "maria hill!" the whole hour. it helps that her character doesn't look or act anything like maria hill. she knows way too many guys, tho, and not nearly enough women. (by which i mean, everyone in her life is a guy except the mother of the (dead) love of her life, and there's bad blood there. she has no female friends.) i didn't dislike it, tho. i can watch the second episode.

and the good place comes back tomorrow! for its last season, sigh.

the good place, stumptown, wednesday reading meme, memes
