unrelated it's shark week in my house and i'm a bottomless pit

a couple nights ago i made a quiche and my bathroom still smells a little bit like sauteed onions. (it's off the kitchen and the door is right next to the stove.) i'm not complaining, but it's kind of weird to be washing your face and smelling onions on the (clean! washed! tumble-dried with a dryer sheet!) washcloth.

the quiche is oniony and delicious, by the way.

i keep forgetting when izombie is on, so i keep missing it. >.< that's actually all i have to say, other than either there are a lot of plot threads or i'm just easily confused.

is anyone else watching nos4a2? i'm creeped out but not scared, which is really all i want in my horror tv. i'm constantly thrown by the fact that the main character is played by the actress who plays dot in miss fisher's murder mysteries, and i don't know how i feel about the bostonish "accents" (it's set in haverhill, which is like an hour north and not exactly boston, but i guess the accent is similar), but i'm liking it. i don't have anything deep to say about it, tho.

work is work. the receptionist is on vacation so i'm covering the front desk three hours a day, and it's not awful. mostly it's boring.

last sunday i went to ikea with tamalinn and because we went right when it opened, there was almost no one there. it's VERY WEIRD to be in ikea and not have to deal with the shopping hordes. i also spent some quality time trying to whip my bang into shape - and made some progress! - but man, i hate editing. my beta gave me some good suggestions and she likes a plot point i'm still not sure about, so that's good, and i post next week (!!!) so i need to get on it. but i'm already thinking about next year's bang. >.< because i do this every year.

the international space station is going to start taking space tourists. accommodations leave something to be desired and the travel alone is like $58m - not counting room and board - but i have to tell you, if i had that kind of money lying around you better believe i'd want to go into space.

in other nasa news, the street in front of nasa hq is now hidden figures way in honor of katherine johnson, dorothy vaughn, and mary jackson. neat!

aerial photos of australian salt fields. i just thought they looked cool.
