CURLING SEASON STARTS ON SUNDAY.
(it's early this year.) and the best way to get to the curling club is to drive. i'm mobile again! it's very exciting.
so yes, curling starts on sunday. be warned there might be a lot of "we lost/won/played on really weird ice" for the next several months.
a guy in new zealand got slapped in the face with an octopus. he was kayaking when a seal appeared with the octopus and smacked him in the face with it. wtf, wildlife.
last night i had to go to the post office after work (i have sent so much certified mail this week, seriously) and there was a woman in front of me who was mailing something to a fangirl friend, which i figured out by eavesdropping-not-eavesdropping on her conversation with the postal clerk helping her. she admitted she hadn't ever met the friend she was sending the package to, but they'd chatted a lot online, and i missed some of the conversation but the clerk thought it was great. and it was great! i think the women were in a band fandom, altho i couldn't tell which band, and it was just really fun to find a fangirl in the wild. i thought she said something about someone's fortieth birthday - maybe hers? - so she wasn't even a young fangirl, which just made it better.
i had to go back to the post office tonight (i'm not lying about the certifieds) and there were no fangirls but there was a dog. arf.
the good place is back and just as, er, good. there was a cute baked good pun, too. and this is us is back with more dumb shit that people do for the people they love. i really like it but i always want to smack someone at least once. american horror story seems to have hit a point where it would make more sense to me if i'd seen previous seasons besides the ones i've seen. the coven season, say. i thought there was something else tv-related i wanted to share but now i don't remember what it was. maybe that killjoys ended the season on a VERY WEIRD NOTE, and yes i know that was a week ago but it's still weird.
tomorrow is national coffee day in the us. have some coffee deals.
