What I just finished reading:
the long way to a small, angry planet, which was really fun even tho there wasn't much of a plot. it had a climax, kind of, and i guess some character growth, but mostly it was worldbuilding and characters hanging out doing stuff together. they're very likable people, most of them, and it's a likable book. also, outer space. :D
i also read being true, an lgbtq+ comics anthology from the boston comics roundtable. it was a kickstarter campaign and is full of really cute, really sweet short comics about (and by) lgbtq+ folks.
What I am reading now:
flights of reality, a short story collection by lb lee, who's a local comics creator. they did a signing at my comic shop a couple weeks ago and i guess i wasn't feeling it for buying any of their comics. but they write prose too, and the couple stories i skimmed looked good. i just finished the long way to a small, angry planet today, so i haven't started it yet.
What I'm going to read next:
not a clue.
the network went down at work today for like two hours - it was apparently a nationwide thing, not just us - so no one could do anything, and because our phones are basically wifi phones (everyone had to trade in their desk phone for a headset, except for the admins THANK GOD), if the network goes down, you can't use your phone. so people couldn't even call their clients to say "guess what, the network's down, i can't get email, if you don't hear from us that's why". so dumb. so, so dumb. (no one likes the phone system.) i knew there was something wrong because everyone in tax was wandering around talking to each other. O.O usually they're all head down, doing their work, being super quiet, but no! they were chatty. they couldn't do anything except hang out and go to lunch early.
this morning i waited for the bus with a girl with harry potter tattoo behind her ear - a pair of round glasses and a little lightning bolt. very cute and not obvious.
there's a cafe in taiwan that makes
ice cream puppies. cute little shar peis made out of ice cream. it's a little disconcerting to watch them being eaten.
there are blueberry muffins in my fridge and i want one. (i made them monday night with the blueberries from the work fruit box last week.) i should be in bed, but... muffins.
