it's supposed to be 90º tomorrow. ugh. those of you who live in hotter and humider parts of the world, allow me to ugh on your behalf. at least the movie theater near me is showing some good movies. they're doing midnight movies all summer (on fridays i think) and i missed streets of fire a couple weeks ago. i loved that movie so hard. i bought the soundtrack on cassette. :D
work is THE SLOWEST - everyone comes in late and goes home early - but at least there's a/c.
so my bang is done (yay) and i've gotten a couple of comments on it, plus one on the author's note (yay) - i love author's notes, i think everyone should write them - which means it's about time to think about next year's bang. >.< i may or may not have started casting it. and trying to figure out what the plot is. because i'd like shit to actually happen. i probably say that every year, but it's true. shit must happen this time.
i'm also thinking about nano and trying to come up with names and characters and worldbuilding and what the actual story is. i think i'd like a vague idea of what the shape of the thing is this year. fingers crossed.
last night i learned that one of the women in my writing group is on ao3! this makes three of us. she's realsupergirl there and has written the wire, orange is the new black, and, uh, a weird fic about willy wonka's oompa-loompas. it feels kind of like crossing the streams, to be honest, but she seemed excited about it so all i did was warn her that no one on ao3 comments.
click for corgi - what it says on the tin. in case you need a random corgi in your life.
london in 1977 - punks, the queen's jubileee, the piccadilly line extension. where was this when i was writing the punk au bang a couple years ago?
a couple days ago (or maybe yesterday?) south korea beat germany in the world cup, which meant mexico got to advance, which meant folks in mexico city apparently stormed the south korean embassy
so they could celebrate with the south korean consul. by which i mean they danced and sang and he did tequila shots. it's super cute.
in amsterdam there's
a ton of stuff the dutch dug out of a riverbed in the city. so much cool and random stuff. i think the earliest man-made things are pottery shards from like four thousand years ago.
