a. someone brought a big fluffy white dog to the graduation party open house on saturday. it looked like a cloud with feet and a nose, and while it was adorable and soft-looking, i couldn't help but feel bad for it because the weather was warm and the dog had so much long fur. i wanted to pet it.
b. also on saturday i may or may not have left my house without my keys AGAIN. OH MY GOD, SELF. THREE TIMES.
c.
this is the black bean and avocado salad that was so good, and i put it here for future reference, in case i ever need to make a salad for a potluck or something.
d.
two things i love about where i live:
brand-new shiny modern buildings as backdrops for old architecture. it's something i like about older cities in general, the mix of old-and-classical and new-and-shiny. especially when the new-and-shiny is reflective. that's the old south meeting house in front, from which a bunch of angry colonists stormed off to throw tea in the harbor, and the blue skyscraper behind it is a new apartment building.
and fans. :D the only one i don't recognize is the one on the far right. (ignore my awful attempt to cover the license plate.) i think there was another decal around the left on the side of the car, but i couldn't get it in the picture.
e. out-of-context theater:
"i had the weirdest dream - we ran into a ship called the crisis, crewed entirely by blond guys named chris."
:D
f. mexico beat germany in the world cup, and mexican fans got so excited
their jumping up and down registered as an earthquake. they set off seismic activity sensors! those are some excited-ass fans.
