so we're supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow. like, a foot. the french toast alert is at severe. it's too late to run out and stock up on eggs and milk and bread, but new englanders can possibly comfort themselves with the fact that the weather looks scary but isn't necessarily that unusual. it will however be very cold. again

That is STUPID cold. I met a lady a couple days ago, from Illinois. By "from Illinois" I mean that was her first full day living in California. She says where she just left it was at 5 degrees, and that was the high temp for the week. She also said that she doesn't care that the only part of California that looks like Baywatch is called Hawaii, she ain't leaving. Ever again.

I do not have your fortitude. Man. That sounds horrible. Bring on the human chicken breast heater things.

it's supposed to get cold again on saturday! like, a high of 7º! which is really cold for around here. i'd actually rather be cold than hot - theoretically you can always put on another layer, or turn the heat up - but there's a limit. i totally get that lady's point.

Place pets in basement for use as emergency food supply???! Take the grandma you've trampled to get that last gallon of milk and feed her to the pets. Be practical.

WE GOT SO MUCH SNOW. i don't know exactly how much, but it was a lot. there were maybe twenty-five people at work, and that included the interns and new hires who made it in for training. i'm not surprised maryland canceled school for only a little bit of snow. i mean, how often do you get snow?

yeah, i couldn't get into the brains either. but clearly syrians like them, or at least folks in aleppo do. i hope the restaurant survives, because brains aside, it sounds like a delicious place.

Here, I don't think there's been a morning above 0 in weeks. Several times it's been -15ish? I am *ridiculously* thrilled daughter is home from college so the chore of the early morning dog walk falls to her (as Molly is, technically, her dog).

That snow cake is cool, but I'm also just impressed he had a sword lying around to cut it with.

Those sweaters are... something else. Wow.

And you should definitely do the snowflake challenge, it's been fun for me so far! :)

HOLY SHIT THAT'S COLD. i'm so sorry. how does your daughter feel about having to walk the dog in the morning? :D and most importantly, does molly have a coat? and if so, is she adorable in it?

the sword is really impressive, isn't it? cutting a piece of snow cake is just goofy, but the sword elevates it to a whole new bugnuts level.
