so today we were supposed to get a massive snowstorm, right? like 12"-18" of snow, high winds, blizzard watch, the whole thing. except it didn't start snowing until late morning, and then it mostly blew around for several hours, and then it RAINED. RAIN, I TELL YOU. and we ended up with like 7". altho it was terrifyingly windy, so at least that was right. i had to go to the post office after work to drop off some certified mail, and on the way to the post office the wind was behind me and practically blew me up the sidewalk, but on the way to the t station the wind was in front of me and almost blew me over. >.<
oh, and the post office closed early. so i couldn't even mail my mail. and did i mention it was raining? by the time i got there, the aforementioned mail was wet. and i was wet. my feet were mostly dry - i have new boots but the water gets in around the laces, if you happen to step in a puddle that's deep enough - but the rest of me was wet. when i got home i changed out of everything and waited for it to stop raining so i could try to dig out my car. i unearthed it about halfway (enough to get in the front door, turn on the wipers, and clear off the windshield) and then had to give up, because the snow was wet and heavy and half-frozen. >.< on the other hand, my car is half freed. which is better than being all buried.
there was no one on the bus this morning - and practically no one waiting for it either - and there was no traffic on the road and there was no one on the t and i got to work early. O.O and realized i'd left the key to my desk drawer at home. >.< there are spare keys. everyone took the weather warning to heart, tho, and there were maybe twenty people at work. thirteen of those people were tax, but tomorrow's a deadline so there were always going to be people in tax.
honestly, i would've taken another couple inches of snow instead of rain. i mean, seriously, rain? it will all be ice tomorrow. and the puddles are EPIC.
ugh weather
