sleepy hollow: now with less batshit
tomorrow is the first snow emergency of the season. i have to remember to move my car.
did anyone else watch sleepy hollow? it's back and i'm not sure what to think. except DICKIE BENNETT JEREMY DAVIES. as a villain, natch. that was nice. also ichabod's new partner and the new witness is played by a woman of indian descent, which is also nice. i'm down with the continued presence of lots of poc. i don't love ichabod's hair, but to be honest i really liked it when it was long. the short hair looks weird on him. the supporting characters so far don't seem particularly distinct, altho having a sleepy hollow fanboy in the library (the new archives, whatever) was kinda cute, but moving the whole story to dc and pushing the mystic backstory up about eighty or ninety years half turns it into another show. and i don't buy mary todd lincoln and some kind of supernaturally-aware kind of person, even taking into account the show's, uh, TOTAL LACK OF HISTORICAL ACCURACY AND TENDENCY TOWARDS BATSHIT.

anyway. i don't have an opinion yet on the new witness being a former marine and a single mother of an (entirely unsurprisingly) apparently supernaturally-inclined daughter. her skepticism about the mystic shit is predictable and boring, but i guess the ptb need a rational foil for ichabod's seemingly irrational focus on demons and etc. he was less insufferable than usual and there wasn't any "oh, i was there for this supremely important event in american history" or "i was well acquainted with and have opinions on this historical person", which to be honest i didn't miss. but there wasn't any batshit! unless i just got used to it. i miss the gleeful batshit of the first season. this felt like a new show, with the shift in setting and entirely new cast of characters (except for ichabod, obviously, and jenny! hi jenny!) and new mytharc and new historical emphasis. i didn't hate it, but i didn't love it either.
it snowed last night and was still snowing this morning. both things were very exciting for me. :D i spent forty-five minutes on the phone at work trying to change a flight and extend a hotel reservation for one of the managing directors at work, and that was less exciting. and tonight i called comcast so they could get my cable to give me nbc, and they scheduled a tech for monday to fix it. except now i seem to have the channel. i am so confused. but at least i can watch timeless on monday.
kate spade has dinosaur handbags. also a flying pig. one of the dinos went to a natural history museum. now if i only had several hundred dollars just lying around begging to be spent on a cute purse....
