What I just finished reading:
shadowscaper, which i mostly enjoyed - the premise is really neat and the world is really interesting and i liked the main character, but either i'm getting cynical in my old age or i'm really not the target audience (or both), because i just didn't care about the romance subplot. the boy is introduced in the beginning and i immediately thought "oh, he's the love interest". there's more to him than that, but ultimately he's the love interest. altho at least there wasn't a love triangle.
What I am reading now:
i started louise erdrich's the beet queen because i was too lazy to get tracks out of the back of my car (which is apparently where all books end up when i unearth them from my parents' basement), and then i bought the nameless city book 1, a graphic novel written and drawn by faith erin hicks who i really, really like, but it's been so busy at work that i haven't been taking a lunch break which means i haven't actually started it yet. >.<
What I'm going to read next:
i ordered something called damnificados which looked interesting, and it's in at the bookstore so i have to, you know, actually buy it.
so we are clearly deep into busy season at work, as evidenced by my lack of a lunch break. i haven't been on twitter since sunday night. yesterday i didn't even eat my sandwich until almost four. and i spent pretty much the entire day processing returns, which meant i ran the printer a lot and typed up a lot of address labels. lots of standing around and running around but it made the day go by really fast. and i haven't fucked up yet! altho today i took a short and probably inadvisable tumblr break later in the afternoon. look, there was a pic of jeffrey dean morgan with a llama and i had to share it.
i actually like my job. is that weird? i'm not just saying that because i'm making overtime, either.
did i mention i was considering going to philly for wizardworld in june? i blame chaneen and exsequar and sebastian stan's fucking face. but all this overtime is going to a good cause. possibly.
so the izombie finale was on last night, and the first half was a lot of "ohgodohgodohgod wait, what?" and the second half was a lot of "everything's going to be ok! no it's not! yes it is! HOLY FUCKING SHIT." also, ravi is the best.
