it is clearly winter now
first, happy birthday to locknkey! long-time beta reader and fixer of my crappy bigbang first drafts. this calls for cake! and maybe cute boys covered in frosting. :D

friday morning there were so few people on the t that i got a seat! this never happens! we were supposed to have a little super bowl party at work, but there were enough people out on account of snow that they pushed it back to monday, and instead ordered pizza for everyone who came in. of course by the time i went to lunch, the pizza was all gone, but i eat late and i bring my lunch anyway. the snow was kind of impressive as it was coming down, because it blew sideways and made this great white fog out all the windows. i had to brush a lot of it off my car when i got home, but i didn't have to shovel. so, yay. and it was very pretty on all the trees.
tamalinn's power went out so she brought her dog over and we had chinese takeout for dinner, because we could. :D the dog is cute and barky and managed to projectile shed on my couch from the dining room. kind of impressive for a little creature. (i didn't mind. i mean, *i* shed on my couch, why can't the dog?)
yesterday she and i (but not the dog) went to ikea, where we ate meatballs and she bought a mattress that fit in my car. \o/ (ikea rolls them up.) there were girl scouts in the harvard square t station, so of course i bought a box of cookies, i acquired some comics, i caught up on some of the tv i'm behind on. it was a good day.
and tonight my team won at curling! O.O possibly because half the team was out and we had subs. but whatever, it's our first win this half of the season, i'm not going to argue with it.
it's supposed to snow again tomorrow. a snow emergency has been called and schools are closed. i'm not sure how i feel about this.
bookmarks with feet! because who doesn't want to see hobbit feet or the wicked witch of the west's striped stockings sticking out of their book?
london mail used to travel underground, on a rail system very much like the tube, just smaller. it closed about eleven years ago but some of it will reopen in 2017 as an attraction people can visit. tiny trains! retrofitted for people! personally i find this pretty cool.
lego is making a playset with the new ghostbusters, all four ladies plus the greater hemsworth, plus a demony looking... demon. (spoiler? who knows.) is this cool, or what?

i totally other news, my bigbang proceeds apace altho it has approximately zero shape. it does however have 7000 words, which mostly means i'm not concerned about hitting the word minimum. which is a yay.
