guess who managed to tuck her skirt into her panties in the ladies' room on her way out of work, and was saved from very public embarrassment by a kind gentleman in the building lobby! at least they were pretty panties. but oh my god, self. and then the subway car i got into was crowded and not air conditioned, and i ended up standing right in front of these two little boys who were reasonably cute except that they had no concept of "indoor voice" and didn't shut up, and their grandmother (at least i assumed she was grandma, as she looked a little too old to be mom) wasn't particularly interested in telling them to a. lower their voices, or b. stop standing on the seat.

...there's an ad for kmart on right now that's all about kmart's christmas layaway plan. IT'S SEPTEMBER. GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT CHRISTMAS SHOPPING BULLSHIT.

bah.

What I just finished reading:
small gods, which turned out to be kind of a comfort read, and pretty much exactly how i remembered it. by which i mean, i enjoyed it a lot.

What I am reading now:
sabriel, by garth nix[1], because i was in a rereading mood. so far so good. i'm not that far into it, so i don't have that much to say about it.

What I'm going to read next:
i hate this question. the answer is always "i have no idea".

john barrowman showed up at dragoncon wearing a tardis inspired dress. also, red heels. because of course he did.

and speaking of dragoncon, a whole bunch of mad max cosplayers took advantage of being in the same place at the same time.

crafty geeks are thwarted by the lack of funko pop rodney mckays, so they make one for david hewlett, box and all. he's even holding a zpm. geeky crafters are the best. also funko pop figures are just SO CUTE.

animated japanese woodblock prints - ie, classic woodblock prints with nifty 21st century animations. like, a train. and a person on a segway.

[1] NOT ENNIS.

embarrassment, mad max, wednesday reading meme, woodblock prints, cool shit, crafty fen, dragoncon, what is this fuckery, sometimes i hate public transport, john barrowman, cosplayers, sg:a
