it snowed today! it wasn't supposed to snow again until tomorrow! it didn't really stick, BUT STILL.
and after having figured out how not to be an hour late for work, i was... an hour late for work. >.< because i had to wait for the bus - IN THE SNOW - for an hour. *sigh* i figure that for probably the next two months, whenever i have to go somewhere, at some point i'll end up waiting for a bus.
on the plus side, one of the admins accidentally ordered lunch for a non-existent meeting, which meant there were random sandwiches in the cafe, which meant i had a nice chicken sandwich on a croissant for lunch. yum.
a thot and a squee about agent carter:
thanks to
jola i'm now convinced that the russian soldiers who were killed at the mysterious battle of finau/finow/howeveryouspellit (the one that dooley went to europe and interrogated the nazi to investigate) were killed by their own side. like, the soviets used a weapon on their own troops to see how it worked. i think it was too soon to be the winter soldier, but it could've been something/someone else red room-y. maybe they'd produced some proto-buckys and turned them loose as a test. that might explain why howard was freaked out and so concerned for the safety of his little vial of steve's blood. i mean, what if the russians got a hold of it? imagine the horrifying things they could do, considering the horrifying thing(s) they'd already done.
the whole scene with angie trying to distract the ssr guys from peggy was delightful. not just her quick thinking and her acting, but thompson's admission that he calls his grandmother "gam-gam", and sousa's "i am so going to mock you for that" look, and thompson's "do it and you'll be demoted so fast your head will spin" look. it was really cute. but mostly, angie! throwing the guys off the scent by making them profoundly uncomfortable with displays of female emotion. i love the way the women on this show use men's preconceptions of ladies against them. the psychiatrist totally nailed it, the way he told dooley and thompson that the black widow assassins would be so effective because women are so often overlooked.
also now that i've seen it i can squee about
justified. :D dickie bennett! who unknowingly sold his land to loretta! who is not going to sell it to markham! who shows up at her house to (no doubt very nicely) threaten her! and who is thwarted by raylan! who is looking out for her! also, tim and raylan sussing out the deaths of the english teacher and her husband was pretty fabulous. tim's double-take when calhoun mentions the eulogy, and then his discovery of the tape on the windows, and the fact that he wants to die between sigourney weaver's thighs. (i pictured aliens era sigourney, for what it's worth. ripley sigourney.) and wynn duffy grew up in hawaii! and used to surf! what a weird visual.
katherine's lunch with ava was creepy as hell. i'm not sure i still think katherine had anything to do with her husband going to jail and then getting killed, but i still don't trust her, and i do think she wants markham dead so she can take over his business. and how does she even know about the prison guard?
and now i'm watching the 100 and about all i'm going to say about it is that i love that almost all the people in power are women. it makes me so happy.
pictures of kowloon walled city. i've probably shared some of these already, but i'm compelled to share them again. i can't help it! i'm completely fascinated by this place, and the books of photos are waaaaay out of my price range.
