You definitely don't bring Bridget Regan onto a show and not make use of her. (Which really means, I think the same thing you do - that she's the shooter & she's the one after Peggy.)
i didn't recognize her at all - and thanks to imdb i now know she was on white collar, but she wasn't blonde there - but i can't imagine the ptb would have taken the time to introduce her if they weren't going to use her as more than just one of peggy's neighbors.
Just a note from the comics (I know you don't follow comic-book cannon but i'm going to mention it anyway): The Black Widow program produced many "widows", who would work under a variety of covers. One of Natasha's covers (which included implanted memories i beleive) was a ballerina ;)
I'll have to look up when the whole Red Room/Widow program started but i beleive it was contemporary. It's kind of ironic that Natasha is as old as Cap, considering she teases him about being a fossil and all, he life-span (and Nick Fury's) we extended via a serum.
i knew natasha was trained as a ballerina - or at least she thought she was - it came up a lot after the first ultron trailer leaked, because there was that shot of dancers. i saw somewhere else someone suggesting that the new girl is either a fellow black widow working undercover or that her dancing is a nod to that part of canon.
does natasha know she's that old, tho? i mean, if she's got fake memories, couldn't they have just implanted her with a memory of having been born in the 80s or whenever mcu canon says she was born?
Also, i'm kind of loving the supporting cast. Jarvis OF COURSE, but also the boarding-house matron is kind of bad-ass and if random nazi ninjas ever go after Peggy i'm 100% sure that woman is going to be at the top of the stairs w/ a tommy-gun telling them "no men above the first floor!".
Not so sure about Daniel Sousa, It *looks* like he's pegged as the possible long-term romantic interest but he's also possibly a Hidden-bad-guy-you-don't-expect of the Hail Hydra variety ... anyway, i have my eye on him.
I love, love, LOVE Agent Carter too! The competency of her fellow agents really hits home for me. And have you seen this? It lists all the tests that Agent Carter passed (like the Bechdel) and the ones it thankfully failed (like the Moonlighting test). I hadn't heard of all of the tests, but it's an interesting read. I really hope it does well enough in the ratings that they do another 8/10 episode "event" next year.
i haven't seen that post! i've only heard of three of the tests, tho. (bechdel, mako mori, and the sexy lamp. but i think everyone's heard of the bechdel test.) and now i can share this article i saw linked from twitter, which posits peggy as the first actual superhero in the mcu. (they're going chronologically and suggesting steve died before he really hit true superhero archetype. which i might argue, but whatever.)
