also, a happy hanukah to my fellow hebs! as it is said - they tried to kill us, they failed, let's eat. :D i won't get latkes until friday, but i did have a doughnut on the way home. mmm, doughnuts.
today's day of babble is souvenirs, for ephemera. i always seem to end up with magnets from places i've been longer than a weekend. like, i don't generally buy them during wincons, altho i did get one in chicago because i went to the sears tower and i thought that deserved commemoration. now my parents and my sister bring me back magnets when they go somewhere and i stick them on my fridge. my fridge is not that big and i'm running out of room. i like souvenirs - they remind me where i've been and what i thought was interesting or at least interesting-looking about what i saw. for a while my favorite thing to buy was diy paper models of buildings, but i haven't actually built any of them yet. i'm not sure where i'd put them, anyway.
for the cat owners and/or knitters in the audience, a crocheted viking helmet for cats.
mom calls c-span to yell at her pundit sons - they sit on either side of the aisle, politically, and apparently go on tv together a lot to argue the issues. mom is kind of fed up with them.
baker produces beautiful gingerbread replica of a bakery, coincidentally the bakery where he wants to work. how cool is that? it looks too nice to eat.
