this lack of knowing what to write for nano is ANNOYING

i wanted to go to new york this coming saturday to scout fic locations, but apparently i have a dentist's appointment in the morning. >.< so no new york for me. and no new york until at least december, so i can spend all my november weekends nano-ing.

i still have no idea what to do for nano. i'm considering resurrecting and revamping the incredibly half-assed and derivative (but so fun) fantasy epic i started when i was twelve or thirteen, altho i don't actually know what to do with it. and i've lost a huge chunk of it somewhere, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but does mean i've lost a bunch of names. there's still the friar and the heretic, but i've done approximately zero worldbuilding and was kind of hoping for something with slightly less angst. nyargh. what do i do for nano, flist? i need something by friday, so i can get going after midnight.

(and don't anyone say "oskar and conrad". :p )

one thing about gotham:

carol kane as oswald's mother! that was pretty much the only thing i paid attention to, aside from selina breaking into wayne manor, and bruce being asleep on the couch. that huge house, and he's sleeping on the sofa? o.O

is sleepy hollow less batshit recently, or am i just getting used to it? i'm about done with ichabod having close personal experience with pretty much every important event and every important person in revolutionary era america. we get it, ichabod, you knew everyone. dial it back a little. his encounters with the 21st century are still gold, tho. one more thing: i like hawley (admittedly that's partly because he's cute and partly because i like watching him and ichabod bicker) (altho their sniping has the flavor of two boys fighting over a girl, which annoys me, even tho the girl in question isn't romantically interested in either of them and has zero patience for their chest-thumping bullshit) but do we need to see him every episode? he's turned into the walking repository of mystical artifacts, and seems to exist partly so he can say "oh i can get you that" or "oh, i know a guy who can help you". kind of like the supernatural-object deus ex machina. i'd rather have more jenny and less him. altho we did get some jenny tonight, and that was nice.

the wendigo looked a cousin of the one from hannibal, which personally i kind of enjoyed. and i really liked eddie spears on hell on wheels, so it was good to see him on tv again.

gotham, sleepy hollow: still batshit, the friar and the heretic, nanowrimo, research
