work today was sooooo sloooow. i filled my time by finding and catching up on a web comic called
stand still. stay silent (which is weird and adorable and post-apocalyptic and scandinavian and i really like it) and contemplating my nanonovel, which is apparently no longer about the friar and the heretic. >.< i'm half tempted to resurrect parts of the fantasy epic i started to write when i was in seventh grade, but, well, i was in seventh grade. the fall of the kings is making me want to write about university students in a vaguely historical-fantasy kind of way and while i want to do nano with an idea i'm really into, i don't want it to be so obviously derivative. whatever, i still have a week to figure it out. for all i know i'll have an entirely new exciting idea on monday.
watched haven, not sure how i feel about it. on the one hand, i do think that s5 so far is better than s4, altho i don't think that's a very high bar, but on the other, audrey and nathan's relationship has gotten so one-dimensional - and so has he - that i'm annoyed and bored with it. admittedly, if they both gave duke a little more love i'd be a lot happier. i'm easy that way. :D
also watched constantine and am entirely unimpressed. the best i can say is DICKIE BENNETT! (poor jeremy davies - he'll always be dickie bennett to me. i liked dickie, in a "you are a terrible person and i'd be so done with you if i knew you in real life, but you're fun to watch on tv" kind of way, so this isn't necessarily a bad thing.) castiel fangirls are no doubt flipping their shit at the idea that constantine stole the angel's wardrobe. which, well. hellblazer and john constantine predate spn by a couple-three decades. but if you don't read the comics you probably won't know that, and that's ok. that's what the internet is for. :D i just can't reconcile john living and working in the states. it's weird.
the story of a modern-day pickpocket. he lives in vegas and makes his money doing corporate parties, among other things. like, someone legitimately pays him to wander the room, steal people's wallets and jewelry and whatever, and give it back.
german art and nazi propaganda - this just made me think of conrad, of oskar and, because he was trained as an architect but taught high school art after the war.
the woman who walked her chicken around paris. yes, really. ~:>
apparently anything goes in korean boys' high school yearbook photos - some of these are really creative and some are just kind of batshit. i wonder if the girls are the same level of nutbar in their high school yearbook photos.
someone's entry for their office's pumpkin decorating contest.
a senior vp from google now holds the record for highest jump - ie, he went up almost twenty-six miles into the strastosphere and fell. holy carp.
from the department of "aww":
deaf dog adopted by deaf guy - someone at the shelter taught the dog sign language, and who better to talk to a dog using sign language than someone who uses it to talk to other people?
