sherlock last night was vaguely unsatisfying, except for ms hudson! somewhere in the house, clyde was no doubt making hearteyes. but the whole thing with joan and mycroft still feels weird - maybe it's because they don't have a lot of chemistry, or because the two of them sleeping together in the first place felt kind of left-field and random, and now the ptb are trying to make it a plot point and important to an episode, it doesn't feel any more organic. it feels contrived. and what's with kidnapping joan as part of what looks like a, what, espionage plot? there's an international criminal enterprise using mycroft's restaurant as an office? mycroft is involved in shady shit? eh. i thought the case was kind of interesting, tho, mostly for the tiny mosquito drone. nifty!
vikings was good, tho. especially athelstan going back to kattegat with ragnar and co. :D (well, ragnar did kind of beg him.... because ragnar kind of loves him and misses him.) i actually kinda like that he's gone back to being openly christian even tho he still seems to have some genuine belief in the norse gods. i can't believe how quickly he gave up being among saxons, tho. he seemed so much more in his element reading/translating/copying roman scrolls for ecbert. but no, apparently the norsemen are his family. i'm not complaining! but i'm kind of amused that ragnar gripping his thigh and begging him to come back was all it took.
i feel like every week there's a new double-cross, altho actually i think there are only two - horik trying to screw ragnar over, and ecbert and aella planning to, what, hire vikings to help them defeat the oversexed vegetarian princess of mercia? after watching a bunch of vikings hire themselves out to fight for her? i admit to being kind of confused as to how the kings think that will work.
and of course bjorn's slave girlfriend - who is now a free girlfriend! - whose name i can't remember, of course she wants to be like lagertha. doesn't everyone? :D
yesterday i was briefly overcome with bucky feels, mostly because i used some free time to look at tumblr, and someone had posted something about service dogs that help people with ptsd. also apparently there's a gifset going around showing sebastian stan asleep on a couch, and then he gasps and wakes up? (this is what wrenlet tells me. does it ring any bells?) so of course i imagine bucky sleeping on steve's couch and being woken up by a flashback nightmare, and AIGH, FEELS.
(also wren and i may or may not have had a brief discussion of a justified/mcu mashup, aka "sniper with ptsd and, uh, sniper with ptsd". tim can take bucky to the vfw hall in lexington, altho explaining how bucky qualifies to drink there would be weird in the extreme.)
also late last night, when i really should've been in bed, i found some gifsets of the lovely mr stan in political animals, with some sweet boykissing. because he looks so nice kissing other boys.
totally unrelatedly, except that there's also boykissing, i look at my bigbang and despair. >.< altho! i have an ending now! \o/ and a beginning! \o/ and almost a middle! /o\ and a title! \o/ i will finish the first draft by the end of the weekend if it kills me.
