the prestige is on tv right now and michael caine is in it and i can't see him without expecting him to be alfred. it doesn't help that batman christian bale is in this too.
but also, david bowie as tesla. i remember being tremendously confused the first time i saw it - i rented it, i think, i didn't see it in the theater - but i quite enjoyed bowie. i mean, what's not to love?
there are some painters (or painter-adjacent) among you, right? how do you feel about talking to me about painting? :D mostly practical process stuff, i think - kinds of paint and the mixing/blending thereof, kinds and sizes of brushes, stuff about portable easels and not-portable easels, charcoal, watercolor, pastels, frames, prepping of canvas, do you sketch on paper and then paint from the sketch or do you go straight to canvas, what about sketchpads/drawing boards, etc etc. i don't paint so i don't know the first thing about it, and i need to know some details.
and i have a quick question about justified: what possessed danny and daryl to shoot johnny's henchmen in mexico? it looked like the brothers kind of glanced at each other like a secret signal. and johnny's guys were clearly not carrying guns, so danny's insistence that they drew on him was very much a distraction. this is what you get for working with crowes, boyd.
