it's just snow everywhere out here
first, happy galentine's day to my lovely lady friends! if you're unfamiliar with galentine's day, which i was until, well, today, let lesley knope from parks and rec explain. (basically it's a day for women to get together with their women friends, ideally with breakfast food.) i'm considering celebrating with chinese takeout, altho it depends on how badly i want to go back outside.
we got snow today, as did pretty much the entire eastern seaboard. for a while it looked like snowmageddon outside, and then the snow stopped and turned to rain and now there are massive slushy puddles everywhere and piles of very wet, very heavy snow. there's no fucking way i'm going to shovel out my car, but i did manage to push all the snow off the windshield and windows in case it decides to freeze tonight. there wasn't even enough snow to call a snow emergency, but it's still pretty messy out.
today's online daily curling was the us women vs japan. we won. :D and now i'm watching men's freestyle skiing because that's what's on and it looks cool. one of the americans is from indiana. there are no mountains in indiana. there are barely hills in indiana. i am super impressed that he managed to do any training at all in indiana. he skis without poles, which is weird, but he looks nice in the air.
speaking of olympics, deirdre-c is running a sam/dean and j2 olympics commentfic meme. make prompts, fill prompts, read prompts. porn and be happy. :D i may or may not have started to write a fill, altho i wrote some of it on my phone while i was waiting for the bus tonight, and now i have to get it off my phone. somehow.
