cold! snow! marzipan smaug!
happy birthday colls! you're kind of a nutbar but i mean that in the nicest possible way. :D today you should have cake. and maybe some glitter.

it is apparently as cold in canada (specifically southern manitoba) as it is on mars. mostly this means i'm trying to picture the curiosity rover in a winter scarf. brr, tho. stay warm, canadians!
it is snowing in greater boston and i am excited. :D it actually started late last night, but this morning there was only an inch or so on the sidewalk - it was airy, fluffy snow - but it kept up all day, combined with some pretty impressive wind, and coworker d made me leave work at five. a bunch of people had already left but i still felt weird. because i take public transportation to work i've gotten very cavalier about traveling in unpleasant weather, but i always forget that while i just have to sit on the bus, someone has to actually drive the bus. which, at 5:30, was no big deal. but who knows what it's like now.
i can't tell if it's still snowing or not, and i have no idea what the commute is going to be like tomorrow and if i should bother to go in. i brought my work laptop home just in case. i hate working from home because it is SO HARD TO CONCENTRATE, but if it's really unpleasant out, at least i can wear my pjs until lunch.
