it could've been worse - they could've taken all my money

today was (well, still is) talk like a pirate day! so of course twitter offered up the occasional punny tweet about online pirates. hee.

i saw a guy on the t this morning listening to welcome to night vale on his e-reader/tablet/whateveritwas. (looked like a tablet, but about the size of a kindle.) i could see the, uh, what i would consider cover art on his screen. night vale is everywhere, as evidenced by the fact that i can recognize it on someone's tablet screen without ever having heard it.

apparently someone (or more than one someone) stole my debit card number along with a whole bunch of other people's debit card numbers. >.< i guess i used my debit card with an insecure merchant. (the bank didn't tell me if it was an online purchase or not. i suspect it was.) i got this email from the bank, tried to log on to the bank's web site, couldn't remember my pin. which is RIDICULOUS because i'd deposited a check in the morning. so i called the bank and got to talk to a person who told me what happened. he ran through the most recent charges to my account, which were all mine, so at least no one started to take my money. but he deactivated my debit card (and then i cut it up) so now i don't have one. i should get a new one in five or seven business days, and until then if i need cash i think i have to actually go to a bank and get it from a teller. it'll be like the old days! yeesh, tho.

check out these trapeze artists - two guys, beautiful routines.

corgigami!

these little origami boxes are so cute.

this hannibal fan art is likewise so cute. the stag's face makes me giggle.
