designed a hotel for new york city in 1908. it was never built, but it did make it into an episode of fringe.

One of my favorite writing exercises involves writing one word, waiting 30 seconds, writing a second word, waiting 30 seconds, and so on, usually for about five minutes. One person has to call out the intervals. It really gets you to consider every single word carefully, because each one is valuable. I find I use better diction and write more powerful sentences this way.. Good for poetry or prose.

we usually only spent fifteen minutes on the writing exercise, tho, and thirty words doesn't seem like enough. it's not a bad idea, tho.
