first, happy late birthdays to janedavitt, cee-m, and undeny, ladies that fandom and guysmut brought me. :D this is the public post of good wishes and cake!
dancing boys and girls: *tango*
and dancing pretty people, of course. it's not a birthday unless there's a boogie.
also, delaware legalized same-sex marriage! i think yesterday! (or possibly monday.) and rhode island did so last week! i think that's eleven states! now the eastern seaboard, soon the country!
it's very exciting.
so bigbang reveals are, er, revealed, and the posting schedule is up, so i can be slightly late to the party and share my summary:
In 1937, Jared loses his job and runs away from home to join the circus. He's not a performer so he finds work as a roustabout, putting up and pulling down the big top as the circus rolls through town after town. It's hard work but he likes the people, and the traveling circus itself has fired his imagination since he was ten, with its sideshow acts and animal acts and big top performers, and especially now its aerialists, in particular a talented, good-looking trapeze artist named Jensen.
there's smut. and hedgehog jokes that don't translate well. and fire breathing and sword swallowing. and chess. and jensen wearing glasses. and jared reading scifi magazines. and good-looking people swinging from a trapeze. i call it the circusbang in my head. also i've seen some preliminary ideas from my lovely artist and i am EXCITE. there were squeaky noises of glee. and we don't post until the end of july, which is also exciting. i have time to research. i mean. um. edit. and maybe redo the summary since i'm not a huge fan of it.
altho i may or may not be way more interested in next year's bang which i've already started writing.... (by which i mean, a couple small scenes on paper and more in my head. and some preliminary dips into the research, because if i didn't have to look a lot of shit up i wouldn't be me.) poor dear-tiger made the mistake of asking me what it was about, so i told her. at length. ahem.
and now i need to get dressed and go to work! yay employment. :D
