happy birthday youraugustine, altho i'm not 100% sure how much she's on lj these days.... but still, i hope it was a good one. :D with cake, of course. and ideally well-behaved small children. and productive writing time.

i watched the thor 2 trailer a bunch of times at work today (i remembered my earbuds so i could even listen to it) (oooh) and my takeaway is both "i think i'm more excited for this than for iron man 3" and also "i don't like loki's hair". i really, really don't. altho now i can actually see tom hiddleston as eric draven. (still don't think the crow should be remade, tho.)
well, i wouldn't be me if i didn't have an opinion on someone's hair. thor's i like, tho.
speaking of bad hair! who else is watching defiance? bad wigs and all. as much as i love being able to see tony curran on my tv every week - and i do love it - i'm not sure i love the show that much. i like the world-building altho if the earth folded over st louis and buried it, how the hell did it not fold over the arch? and there should be a river right there, altho i guess you can handwave that with "well, terraforming". but the plots are a lot of cliche especially the romeo-and-juliet teenagers who want to get married at seventeen? really, kids? that side plot is so boring and almost painfully stupid, even if i do kinda like how stahma is trying to manipulate it to her favor. and did i mention the bad wigs? some of them are really, really bad. but i like how it looks and i like a bunch of the actors and some of the characters are actually interesting and like i said, tony curran.

check out this goldfish wearing a life jacket. apparently he has a bladder disease that means he can't swim. so his owner made him a life jacket.
