two days a week. riiiiight.

so during july i was supposed to have two unpaid days off a week at work, but they changed their minds and i ended up with only one day off a week. this was good. but now it means that in august i'm off work THREE days a week. so i'm basically working part-time until september, at which point i will probably continue to work part-time, only hopefully less part. (i still get full-time benefits, tho, by which i mean health care. which is good because i still have two more dentist appointments before they're done scraping all the calcified crap off my teeth.) i'm wondering more and more why they don't just fire me because seriously, if my boss wants to get anything done, he's probably going to need me more than two days a week, and if he needs me a third day, they're going to pay me for that third day, and that kind of defeats the purpose of making me take so many days off without pay.

so i have consequently spent pretty much the entire day sitting on my couch watching olympics coverage. altho aside from dressage and women's volleyball, i'm not quite sure what i watched.... little bits of events, mostly. last night i got to see some of the women's gymnastics, and over the weekend i watched rowing, swimming, archery, fencing, beach volleyball, regular volleyball, and probably some other things i can't remember. it's been that kind of an olympics for me.

in other entirely random news, grimm comes back this month, after the olympics. that seems very early for a non-cable show. but it's on mondays, which means i can actually watch it.

also peter jackson is going to release the hobbit as three movies, rather than two. i'm not sure how i feel about that. i mean, i'll go see all of them because it's peter jackson doing the hobbit, but is there enough there for three movies? it's not a doorstop book.

today was a gorgeous day and i spent it sitting on my couch, so i am going to take a walk. with luck i can make it to the bakery before they close and buy myself a cupcake.

work, grimm, olympics, the hobbit
