dr who! (5x10? i think?)

so i have now seen an episode of dr who with eleven, who is adorable, and amy is adorable, and they are completely adorable together. (seriously. they're both really cute. the doctor is also kind of a dork and i like that in a person. :D ) does he always come across as kind of awkwardly flirty, tho?

i don't remember ten being quite so... well, ok, he too came across as kinda flirty a lot. and also a dork. nine, not so much. not that it matters - i like eleven regardless. he and amy have some really nice affectionate chemistry. and i may or may not have vaguely possibly slightly-a-little-bit considered the believability of eleven/van gogh slash, and determined that yes, i would buy it.

i haven't seen any dr who since the last time siffy the scifi channel showed it, so i forgot that sometimes the episodes are really sniffle-worthy. and this one so was!

also eleven seems nerdier than ten. maybe it's the bow tie.... and his grumping about how impressionists can't draw a clear representative image like, say, gainsborough. (that bit was totally old-man-trapped-in-a-young-man's-body, and i giggled.)

i don't remember nine being a nerd at all.... i like that the doctors (new who doctors, at least) all seem like slightly different people, but still close enough to each other that you can buy them as the same person.

I've been watching them on BBA On Demand, so I'm only up to 5x07. I love Amy so hard - it's almost up to my love for Donna, which is massive and huge. And I am really enjoying Eleven, he's flat-out adorable and charismatic, and without that underlying "I AM AWESOME" smugness that Ten had at the end of the Rose run.

i don't get bbc america! which actually annoys me now, because i don't want to wait for the scifi channel reruns. because i really like eleven and amy. (partly because she didn't seem to be unrequitedly massively in love with him, which is what soured me on martha and ten. i LIKED martha, i just didn't like that the ptb had to make her yet another companion insanely in love with the doctor. and one of the things i loved about donna was that she wasn't. and also, she was pretty awesome.)

Weirdly, we don't get it either! We get BBCA On Demand, but not BBCA itself, which is the strangest thing. It's available, but not in our package.

I loved the doctor and rose, I really did, but martha never had a chance. She was his rebound companion, and while she herself was awesome, and he had an interesting character growth storyline through her, I was proud of her when she left.

It really is eerie how much he resembled Van Gogh's self portraits.
